Samsung Galaxy S III Announcement On May 3

For quite a number of months now, we’ve been hearing about a new addition to the Samsung Galaxy line-up and it would appear that this addition is getting closer at hand with invitations now having been sent out.

According to the invite, mobile users are being asked to “meet the next Galaxy” on May 3rd and although there is no indication that this is the Galaxy S III, this is the bet going around now. For the May 3rd event, Samsung wants to make it available to as many invited guests as possible. As such, in addition to the in-person event that will take place in London, England at the Earls Court Exhibition Center, the company will also have a live feed that will be streamed on the Internet. Very little is known about the Galaxy S III but it is expected to run on a newer variant of Android, namely Android 4.0. Like all upgrades, this one should come with better hardware components such as a better screen display as well as a processor upgrade, either in the form of a 2GHz dual core Exynos 5250 or the quad-core Exynos 4412.

Over the years, Samsung has built a strong brand recognition for itself when it comes to their mobile phones and the predecessor to the Galaxy S III, which is the Galaxy S II was the company’s most popular phone thus far. Pundits are interested to see if the new model will be just as successful, but we’ll have to wait until the fall which is when the rumoured launch date is said to be.
