Customers that own a RIM tablet may have been wondering just when the Waterloo company was planning on updating their device to PlayBook 2.0 OS.
Although RIM has never provided an exact date regarding this update, they have renewed their commitment to customers that this update will occur before the month is out.
In fact, it was during an interview that Jeff Gadway, BlackBerry’s senior brand manager, gave to PC Mag that details of the PlayBook update came out with Gadway stating that the update will occur “very soon”. However, there was still no firm date though many analysts are speculating that the update will either occur next week, or possibly at the end of this month when the Mobile World Congress takes place.
Playbook 2.0 will be the first update that Research In Motion will push down to their tablets and with it will come a couple of new features. Not only can customers expect the user interface to see a redesign, the new OS version will also bring changes to some of the core apps on the device including calendar, electronic mail and instant messaging. Customers will now also be able to utilize some Android applications on their tablet as selected apps will be available for download through BlackBerry App World.
