Japan Display Announced 5.4-inch Smartphone Display at 543ppi


5.4-inch Smartphone Display

Japanese Display Inc. announced 5.4-inch smartphone display with resolution of 1440 x 2560 pixels and 543 ppi pixel density. Just after announcement of 4K resolution ( 3840 x 2160 pixels ) in a 12.1-inch tablet display with a 365 ppi pixel density.

The display is impressively crystal clear, great for tablet and high-end smartphone users, actually Japan Display Inc. announced two displays with same resolution 1440 x 2560 pixels: 5.4-inch with 543ppi and 6.2-inch LCD display with 473 ppi.

However, todays smartphone like Galaxy S4 with 5-inch full HD display offering 441 ppi pixel density.

Japan Display Inc. uses low temperature poly silicon technology which consume low power and extend battery life. Possibility of which company get this technology first, pointing towards the Sony a Japan based company and partner of Japan Display Inc.
