RUSSIAN HYBRID CAR

Russian First Hybrid Car Won’t Be Launched Till 2015 :

Prototypes of the futuristic e-mobile (also called as Yo-mobile or Yo-mobil) were unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2011.
The Russia’s first hybrid car features doors that slide open, behind and through the vehicle, appearing folded flat on the vehicle roof like the resting wings of a beetle.

The chairman of e-AUTO, Andrey Biryukov, reports that testing of the electrical transmission has been already finished, and the company is now deciding what model will be released first: a coupe, a hatchback or a mini-van. Its launch has been postponed to 2015.

While using the dual-fuel engine (natural gas / gasoline) in the ë-mobile design the company’s engineers are oriented primarily to natural gas (methane), which should become the main fuel for ë-mobile in future.

Designers hope that this design feature will solve a number of economic and environmental problems; vast world reserves of methane, ease of transport, safety in operation – all this will lead in future to a full replacement of gasoline by methane. According to the company’s website, a four-wheel-drive variant named ë-crossover is currently being worked out.
